only question is who did it?

1) pauly? I doubt it, if he had that weighing on his mind, why would he be so worried about that cat all the time. he knew that carlo rolled over, and tony could get arrested and possibly talk, so he has the most reason, but he just doesnt look like he was thinking that. also how he turns down taking over bobby's old crew but then accepts.

2) carmela? if she knew that tony was about to be arrested then she has reason - she saw ginny sacrimone lose evrything and have to go to work in an insurance company after johnny was convicted. but did she have the info about it? and even if she did would she really do that? or know people who would do it? i doubt it.

3) phil's crew? not sure. we never saw tony get the word that phil was killed but we know he knew since it was in the papers (FBI guy read it). so why would phils guys still come after tony after phil died?? doesnt make sense. they would likely want to reach a peace with tony.

I think it has something to do with tony about to go down and fear he would talk, and somebody wasn't going to allow it.

then what does the black screen mean to you? just nothing? the final moment in the show is just a black screen for no reason? it signifies how when you get popped in the head you just go black, just like that. those 2 minutes leading up to it, where for what? nothing? you knew something big was going to happen, but they show it, from tony's piont of view, by showing it all go black as he dies.
i dunno why it bugs me so much how everyone doesnt get this ending. I guess it's like art - you either get it or you don't but if you have to have it explained then fuck it, what's the point.

No it was the worst ending its a slap in the face to those who have watched it for years.

They are trying to squeeze every dime they can out of it and if they make a movie i would not watch it just because they screwed us like this. If you end a show for good really fucking end it do not let it just go dark and leave everyone going "What the fuck...what happened?". Show him getting killed and his family at his grave atleast thats a better ending than letting everyone imagination fill in the bullshit.

Now everyone can come up with thier own ending.

"oh oh tony lives on he becomes super tony and beats up the FBI and saves his family"

"Naa did you see the clock in the backround it said 2:38 clearly the sign of the grim reaper he gets whacked and carmela bangs her way out of her stuff being seized by the govt"

"No way dude if you turn up the volume and listen as it blacks out you can hear a small rat squek...tony used it as a weapon and could only save himself now he is on the hunt for revenge."

The 2 minute lead up shows just what I said. Everytime he looks up and you think something's gonna happen, nothing does. The blank screen to me shows that the show is over. Interesting interpretation you have tho, duly noted. You preaching it as gospel and calling everyone else stupid fu(ks is lame tho. If they wanna bring Tony back in a movie (doubtfull tho) they will.

I'm pretty sure he is right. I think even one of the writers has said that the ending was a tribute to the restaurant execution in the original Godfather.

I preaching it a little bit bceause I know I'm right. I was blown away by the ending. why would this show just end the way you say, just going blank. that's lame. I guess it does piss me off how everyone is wrong about it.

Heres a clip of the last 4 min. but what I find interesting are the last 4 seconds. When meadow comes in and the bell on the door rings he quicky takes his hand off the jukebox and seems to be grabbing for something near his waist. Has a pretty weird look on his face too.

Yeah including you. Nothing in the last part says he gets whacked or even goes to it. His kid runs in and BAm nothing but air time. You do not know for sure and a ton of other people do not know either.

Its all misleading he could have been going for anything. Either way its pretty shitty they end it like that.

Hell even a cheap scene with tony walking out to his car after eating dinner and it exploding as his family watched would have been 10000000x better.

What a great idea lets play some journey in the backround and have his daughter try to park for a few minutes then cut everything off when she walks in...

That ending will leave every one in a deep thought until we figure out a way to squeeze a couple more dollars out of this.

Some say it was you the viewer that got whacked. Also look at the Journey song he played, "Don't stop believing". The other he was looking at was "Any way you want it". They left it open to resurrect him if they desire.

Why does it piss you off? I think youre "pissed" cuz this fucking sucked.

This ending was masturbating a bad joke at its finest. A bad joke...a person tells a joke, gets to the punchline, and the room is quiet. he waits for a second for the audience to 'get it,' but still silence. now the person has to break the 4th wall and explain the point of the joke. Hence...BAD JOKE.

Your guess makes perfect sense. But guess what? I could say the sopranos live on. And to tell you the truth, my guess makes more sense than yours cuz of what was shown.

This was a slap on fans' faces everywhere and is the biggest letdown in final episodes' history. This is worse than Seinfeld's and thats a LOT.
