I appreciate all the feedback. I've ordered my new exhaust, qtp headers, and a Pro 5.0 shifter. I have a friend that says he has an ls1 motor in his shop he would sell me for $800 . Is that a good deal? May possibly buy it and BUILD a motor. What would be a good cam to look at that makes decent power and could still be a daily driven car? Another friend told me to doa 224/224 cam. A new clutch is a must with a new master cylinder. Recomendations?

    Thanks

plus the things Mr. Luos said. And might want to start thinking about that rearend, and definately a clutch. On the $1000 saved with the H/C package, that should net you a clutch.
What hp would this set up give you?

If I had to guess, if you include supporting mods, ie: LTs, ORY or x-pipe, lid, pulley, and tune I would say prolly around my numbers, def. over 400RWHP and around 390RWTQ. up to even maybe 460RWHP and 420ish RWTQ. Keep in mind every car dyno's differently even with the same mods.

That would be a good bang for your buck. That is worth considering.

That is a real nice heads/cam package at a great price. You would definately see over 400rwhp with the supporting mods to go with it. I would personally like a bigger cam but you seem to be interested mainly in streetability to go with the power so that would be a good choice. Being that you have a 98' you will also need an LS6 intake and ported TB.
