ok to everyone else, she swallows it enough. its like half of her diet. she wont do anal. id rather not wear a condom cuz then theres no point... it feels like my *&^%$ was injected with novacaine.
if the legal age is 16, then cool. shes 17. im not, but im not the one thats taking the pill.
over the counter morning after pills arent very safe/reliable. isnt it only like 75% effective?
the reason im asking is... shes scared out of her mind cuz her best friend has been dating this guy just as long as weve been dating, they fuck just as often, and they do just about the exact same stuff. her friend just got pregnant. (17 years old...) luckily she just had a miscarriage, but shit i dont want to go thru with that.
AND NO. ABSTINENCE IS NOT THE WAY TO GO!
so planned parenthood/health departments sound like the best way to go. just gotta find something like that around here.

Listen...your asking medical advise on a gearhead message board. I understand your just soliciting advise...but never under any circumstances take advise from a internet message board dedicated to cars/engines as sound or even reasonable.....
Sweet Pants: "I'm pregnant"
Young Stud: "But the guys on LS1.COM said drinking V8 would prevent that!"
Sweet Pants: "That's OK...I have good news Daddy....I ask what kind of oil you should use in your car on WebMD and they said Costal Oil is the best out there..." " And by the way....get a job and no more BJ's for you....ever"
Get it? You wanna fuck your young stud brains out...fine...have the damn sense to get your partner to a clinic and get things done right.
And my oldest daughter got pregnant and had a baby ON BIRTH CONTROL. Aint 100%. If you aint ready to be a father then dont be fucking. This is why responsible mature guys use rubbers. And they arent a 100%. And if she gets pregnant then man up there stud.

All I know is that having a doctor involved with these choices isn a good thing, Hormone type burth control can be potentially dangerous and she needs to have a doctor she trusts if you decide to try that, (pill/patch).
Spermicides and diaphrams are messy and are not perfect, and condoms are still recommended with a diaphram and spermicide.
The simple fact that you have asked for some guidance so you can do the right thing is a big step in the right direction.
The bottom lin is every time you have sex you assume the same amount of risk in terms of getting pregnant. The old "I'll pull out" or "I'm just sticking it in for a minute" routine is NOT reliable.
We all know someone who has tried that for a decade and it has worked but with my luck or your luck, in none months you will have someone crying for Daddy. It simply is not worth the risk.
Get her to the right doctor. One that she trusts, and go with her if you can. Reality may be a bitch sometimes but having a kid can be worse when you are a single and a teenager.2002 Street ET Champion New England Dragway

if you aren't going to be smart enough to abstain from sex at your age, then at least be smart enough to go see a doctor and make sure you and/or her are given/perscribed birth control that has low health risks to both of you...
having sex doesn't make you a man, it's taking responsability for and handling what happens/comes after sex that does, should the unexpected occur...
i only say that because if something does happen, do you see yourself loving this woman for the rest of your life (marriage and family w/her), or would you rather enjoy looking forward to paying child support for the next 18-24 years of your life? think about it...

i understand that the board is dedicated to cars or engines, but i know half of you are married, lots of you have kids, and probably almost all of you are not virgins, so some of you have to have some sort of experience with this stuff. its not like im going to trust every word i hear on here, but its nice to get ideas from guys with experience.
wow, guess i shouldnt have asked. thanks alot for the help
as for telling me to go to a clinic to do things right... no shit... i agreed that that would be the best bet. also, thank you for treating me like a piece of shit cuz i asked for advice

the downside of asking on this forum is not that its dedicated to cars and engines, its that only a few people (and i do appreciate it from those people) answered my question with helpful responses.

plus, i figured... better to ask guys that have had experience with it than ask kids at my high school what they have heard about it.

alright i apologize for some of what i said... i just realized that the title of this thread is a bit misleading, and i didnt mean it the way some of you thought. i know that a doctors visit is necessary, but i guess the real question is "what are all of the ways to get birth control, and which ones are right/wrong?"
i meant to ask how to do it without visiting her real doctor... the one where her parents would have to be involved. if going to a clinic is considered seeing a doctor, then i asked the wrong question because that is what i plan to do.
have the damn sense to get your partner to a clinic and get things done right. said by sarge... sorry i didnt see that part. i am not trying to avoid seeing a clinic, as thats what im probably going to do. like i said, i just meant 'how do i avoid the actual doctor'

I found this... It seems Illinois is a little bit backwards....
My advice it to go through the yellow pages and find a planned parenthood clinic in your area and both of you go and see someone together. Regardless of your age, grades, maturity level, or what happens, since you are both making the decision to have sex you should be making the decision as to how to protect yourselves from pregnancy and mis-information. Life is a process, not an event and as such the more educated you both are in regards to your actions the better off you will both be.

Information:
CONSENT TO MEDICAL TREATMENT & SERVICES
Q: Do I need my parents' consent to see a doctor?
A: No, any person 18 years of age or older may consent to the performance of a medical, dental or surgical procedure.
Q: What if I don't wish to receive treatment, can I refuse it as well even if my parents disapprove of my decision?
A: Yes, even if death would be the certain result of your refusal, you have the absolute right to refuse all treatment.
Q: Can I go to the clinic on my own and obtain counseling or a prescription for birth control?
A: Yes, when you turn 18 parental consent for such services is no longer necessary.
Q: What is the youngest age at which I can obtain such services?
A: There is no prescribed age, if you meet the qualifying criteria. The law provides that any minor who is pregnant, married, a parent, a minor as to whom the failure to provide such services would create a serious health hazard, or who is referred by a physician, clergy or planned parenthood agency may obtain birth control services without parental consent.
Q: What if I wish to obtain counseling for other services such as substance abuse, sexually transmitted diseases or mental health? Can I do so without the fear that my participation will be revealed to my parents?
A: Yes, at age 18 you may consent to counseling or other services related to the diagnosis and treatment of drug and alcohol abuse, sexually transmitted disease or mental health. With respect to disclosure, the provider is prohibited from informing your parents or guardians without your consent. However, keep in mind that you will be responsible for the cost of the sessions as such contracts for services will be upheld as you are now of the age to legally enter into a binding contract.
