When you do the paper work before the drug test most places ask if you've been taking any cold medicines, perscription drugs, etc. As long as you have a valid perscription for the they can not block you from the job for it.

I get randomly drug tested at least once a year. And this quote is correct. You will have the opportunity to tell the person giving the test what prescription drugs you have taken in the last 30 days, cough medicines, etc. As long as those drugs you have taken, YOU have the prescription for and the name of your doctor, there is nothing they (employer) can do. They (drugs) were required for your treatment and rehabilitation.
