If you can't find a damaged shock (including mounting) and no damage or loose parts in the rear suspension then you would have to be looking at the rear itself being bad. (Probably the spring or cluthes, believing you have limited slip.)
Still sounds like the Voltage and Lurching problem are from the same source.

time for a different car u can pick up somthing different with lots more power and less problems. i seen a 1995 camaro z28 for $3500 in ok shape.
