i think its a real good guess viper insurance is not only gonna be more but ungodly expensive for a 19 yr old. but i guess thats the price you pay to drive such a hot car.

believe me, i thought so too. but shockingly, it is only 750.00 for 6 months full coverage. my vette right now is 630.00 for 6 months...i asked geico about this and they said because im in the prefered customer category ( no tickets or accidents) once im 21 then 25 the rates will drop slightly more.
the trade would be my car and most likely 5 or 6 grand. would you go for the viper still or wait till the 2005 c6 drop a tad more and pick one up for 34000 with mid miles? btw, the viper is around 32000. what do yuou think looks better, performs better, better buy, etc

well the c6 probably performs better then the 94 viper. they have the same horsepower and the vette is lighter. i am pretty damn sure the c6 outhandles the viper as well.

It's a 94, I can't comprehend stepping back 5 years for a car with no luxuries whatsoever

First price what the basic Maintence and repairs are going to cost to keep the viper running, it is a 94 IMO id keep the vette and mod the hell out of it

Better factor fuel in to the cost, about 1/2 the mpg then your vet....As for the babe magnet factor. Car and driver writer had use of a 2003 Lambo for 2week test. He stated the only thing it attracted was 12 to 16 year old boys.

wtf, i jus saw a vid where a 02 z06 beat a c6 stock for stock...makes sense that its possible, i kinda forgot bout that car. will they run with a viper? the viper guy is callin tomorrow night and i know he def wants to do the deal, but if i can get a car like a z06 for 28grand or so, save a few grand, and move up 3 years it would be nice. how is the acceleration, performance, quarter mile time, 0-60, etc compared to the 400hp 480 ft-lb viper? i gotta kind of rush with my research on these cars so i can let this dude know whats goin on and i know that there isnt a better bunch of ppl to ask for advice from than everyone on here. thanks for all the help so far. greatly appreciated

I see it like this ...your 19 . You are probably going to go through a lot of cars before you find what you really like .. Have fun and try/own as many as you can..

dont ever let someone rush you into a decision that might not be best for you. hes clearly thinking its best for him? the c5z06 from my understanding is quite a bit faster then the vipers with 400 horses your considering. and they handle a lot better too. not to mention good air conditioning and other luxury features. i think the viper is better for a older guy with money to blow as a second car. personally, thinking wisely your better off keeping your vette or moving up to a z06. you can get used c5 zo6's for the price your considering paying for that viper. think about what you get, better gas mileage, active handling, good a/c, abs, cheaper mods, less temperamental handling, better acceleration.
