thank you. I didn't even see those links.
I must be going blind. Well the Jeep wound up 3rd and was the best on-road cruiser. Sounds like the Xterra might be the way to go, tho, esp considering it's capabilities AND most power AND best fuel econ.

I like Nissan as a brand too, so you prolly couldn't go wrong with the X.

Well I may get flamed for this but we've decided to get a new suzuki grand vatari. All kinds of cool features, and its only 23000 new. 7 year 100000 mile warranty. You don't have to use the key to start it. Leather, sun roof, xm radio, v6 5speed auto. Feels pretty peppy and drives great. Think we may pick one up tomorrow.

Yes I meant grand vitara, I'm always screwing up and calling it a vatari We went and drove a new 4runner. She HATED it, way to big for her. As we were leaving she asked if I wanted to look at a suzuki that was on the showroom floor (couldn't believe we got a vehicle off the floor, only had 6 miles on it). I agreed and we both couldn't believe how many great features it had. Very sporty and is a torqey (sp) bastard. Sticker says like 185 hp but it'll outrun a friend's late 90s model chevy truck with a 350, I was impressed with the little 6 banger. Good mileage too. Handles and ride better than the civic did surprisingly. Very quiet. I would recommend anyone looking at suv's at least check these out. You will be surprised. The only complaint we've had so far is the big ass 'S' on the grill, looks kinda cheesy. I'll post some pics as soon as soon as I get a chance. Theyre really inexpensive too, we got the most loaded 2WD package you can get, towing package (3500lbs), 7yr 100000 bumper to bumper, 17 inch rims, xm, and the list goes on, for just under 24k.

they seem to like this new one a whole more than the previous model. I just hope that since you're buying a new car that you have a chance to shop dealers and get the best deal. I never try to be in a hurry to buy a car, esp a new one.

Oh and I would at least drive the Honda CR-V (proly too much money) or mebbe a Subie Outback Sport to see what the competition has to offer. But don't be in a hurry to buy anthing or you'll get RAPED by the dealer.

    just my $.02
