I've been "fake warned" for using expletives in a VERY offensive manner. It involved a cock and someone's mom or something hateful like that, I don't remember. They use the system if it needs it, and they aren't gonna act stupid and jump on people's asses every time someone says asses. No one would frequent the boards if they acted like this was a catholic preschool.

I personally witnessed a thread shut down a week ago trying to sell pirated software. Tell stories about racing, but don't PROMOTE illegal activity, and try to utilize the site to make some illegal tranactions. Seems like a good use of the rules to meillegal/unethical... ls1.com does not promote street racing, but plz post your stories for all of us to read or enjoy...
They pay for this site, which I enjoy. Bash them somewhere else out of respect for the fact that they support our site financially. I never understood why people don't understand that.sponsor bashing... if they suck they need bashed...
The point? The rules are guidelines, you can't make site rules and nazi them. To make for the best site possible, we all have to rely on moderator's discretion. Mrr made a good decision when he hit me for using expletives in the manner that I did, I can't complain that other people get away with dropping the f-bomb frequently just because I took it too far. You yourself benefit from mods discretion, like right here right now. Ed is pretty good at responding to threads like this to try and explain things to us, but he rarely warns people when they complain etc in these threads. He reads your feedback (read: bitching
) and responds, and then leaves it at that. I highly doubt he will warn you for telling him your opinions. Every system has it's flaws, but in a small environment like this site this is the best system

Why do you think there are not enough Mods? I have not found any that I think can do the Job.
And no ones stands out in the Tech areas.

So either make it like lstech where they get answers from the sponsors, or let them say when they have been screwed over to warn others if they have proof.

Also when you hav mods telling off members in open threads it leaves new people wondering if they want to be here. I agree me and 2 other members argue a bit much but i think we are being a little more tactful about it now.

no one is breaking off into any cliques. its to small everyone knows everyone and i think majority of the members like it this way. LS1Tech is way to big and to many people on it
-
05-31-2006, 11:05 AM #33Well alot of people who have warnings for minor things but know alot about tech stuff are out of your list now. Im sure it is hard, but just having BS do nothing mods that just post in one thread do not help.

05-31-2006, 11:10 AM #36so basically your asking for this site to be Utpoian in some sense?? because thats the problem with people, they like to tell stories and gossip with friends thats what people do. i like it here because its not strictly tech talk. it gets old after that same ole shit everytime, and most of the BS we do is on the Train anways and we always welcome new members in whenever they are willing to come in

there is a personal form its called AAG
-
05-31-2006, 11:17 AM #38Did i say the site had to be perfect? I was around with the site way before the split for ls2 even and i know the AAG is what brings the traffic alot, but its not what the site is all about. You think its fine to "know" everybody and thats fine there is small boards for that, but on a site this like this the main idea is growth and knowledge not a group of people who ride the train daily.

Im saying alot of good smart people who know that were warned for BS reason and now have no shot of being a tech mod.
