No one formulates their own opinion without having something to base it on. Like i said, if you were for the Iraq war than you based your opinion on what the president/cia/whatever said. He would just post that up so people could see where he was coming from. Everyone does that.

I think what TMF is trying to say is that yes BillyT based his opinion on some information, however BillyT also assumed that his links were the "actual" facts and if you disagreed with him then you were obviously nuts. TMF disagreed that Billy's links were facts and wanted more of what Billy thought and less of the "here is a link to shut you up". ....but I could be wrong.

If I wish to debate about the subject matter here, I post my thoughts, without using someone elses words as a "matter-of fact" back-up. I'm sorry we all can't be harvard professors that have time to sit around and write up a term paper telling how we feel about something. If i happen to agree with someone else's write-up on something i'm just going to post it (in quotes of course) because i have a life that doesn't involve sitting around a computer writing up a term paper for your approval.

not to stick up for billy or anything,
but backing things up with information from others is a way to support your opinion and make it stronger with facts. i'm not saying every link he linked was pure fact and not swayed by someone else's opinion, but i am saying that when in a debate setting it's taught to have factual information to back an opinion, not providing factual information while voicing your own opinion in a debate is viewed as uneducated.

just giving my opinion, i'm hardly ever on this site, just here because it's boring at my job right now
