True, but then you still have to add in the cost of a fuel pump, injectors, tune, etc and that racks up a lot of money quickly. We both know if you think your build will cost "X", add about 50% more to that for shit you forgot or things that come up lol.

That is very true but my point still stands. My point was that it would be much easier to achieve his goal with a 408 than the stock cubed ls1 and it would have a lot better drivability on a daily basis. In addition it is capable of more power if he wants more later. Now if he wants extreme then it is certainly doable on a ls1.

I have thought of that and I might be able to squeeze 5k. No matter whati would at least like to get 425 to 450hp now and still be able to drive it and at a later time put more into it. Maybe a supercharger or something that would put me at 500 or better. And I do appreciate all of the ideas.
