It does sound pretty darn stupid, but when you type it out and list some of the stuff any of the other major religions believe it's not that much more far fetched.

My question would be, what is it based on? Where does the idea of Thetans and this Xenu business come from? Just L. Ron Hubbard's writings that he made up? At least Christianity and stuff is based (largely) on people that lived and the gospels and junk are written by people claiming to have first hand knowledge of the actions of Christ and such. I guess you could argue the Creation story and old testament stuff is just writings "prophets" pulled out of their ass too though.

Who knows, since it's this secretive junk these Scientologists could have some compelling "evidence" or something. They could have it right for all we know (I'm figuring there is about a .0001% chance of that being so, but still lol)... If it's as hokey as it sounds you'd figure most of the level VIII or whatever it was Thetan guys would jump ship when they finally became privvy to the Xenu junk.

What you must understand is that all these are names for the same God. I dont know how he works and I don't pretend to, but we can't know everything. Most of the major religions have very similar theology.
