This H3 clearly doesn't have lockers as I see seperate tires spinning while others sit still. I thought these hummers had lockers???

I'm not an experienced off roader either, but I've had my lockers get me out of places I shouldn't have been in. What that guy experienced above wasn't much and should have been a cake walk for front and rear lockers.
Well what I found out here from a member more familier with "lockers" than I is I don't have a mechanical locker persay.

In 2009 H3 got mechanicals, and I have a computer controled deal, that works with my active stability, traction control, and my brakes.

This explains the howling sound you get when rock crawling and get a wheel or two up in the air, or it begins to drop traction on a corner.

The effect is heightened in low range..

you guys are somethin' else man..

    I ain't mad bros'..

Many people are haters on H3's, and on HUMMER in general.

It's ok, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I like my rig, and it proved it's very capable in 4x4 familier hands when I had her in da woods..

Unfortunetly the silvy had to stay in the woods and I had to bus everyone out ..

Ah I see. I noticed it in the video and the first thing that popped in my head was,,,,"that guy needs some lockers".
With lockers that H3 wouldn't break a sweat over that simple terrain even if put in the worst position (as that guy did).

So ya FBJ no mechanical lockers but still far better than an open diff..

I found that if I let the system work I had no fear about cutting a new trail..

Them dumby friends (with the silvy) of mine went back there on open diffs, "V" ditched it bad enough to set it on it's bumpers front and rear.

The next day another buddy with a lifted silvy and a rear locker came back took one look @ the trail,

(mind you,, he's looking @ the portion of the trail where I had the H3 the night before),

opened up the tail gate and grabbed his block and tackle handed it to my younger bro and said, "I aint goin' in THERE!"

We had about 14" of snow and the day before there was heavy melt off so every hole was full of water and mud to almost my rockers.

I was following what I'd "thought" was a trail,, apearantly it was not.. I get back there and these 2 very muddy, very cold, creatures emerge..

Only thing I could think to do was snap a few pics from my nice warm cab..

Yeah long wheel base 4x4's are notorious for that. That's why the shorter the wheel base the better.

Nice guy,,,taking pics while they are down, kickem' in the gut eh?

Oh and it was a north facing slop so every hole was filled with muddy slush water..

My first thought when I pull off the road and started into the woods was, "it does'nt look like I'm going the way they did.."

I just took my time, walked her in and walked her back out. No biggy

First off I don't know where you get your info, but less than 10% of ANY H3 ever built is anything other than a HUMMER design..

Had my H3 in and out the woods where lifted silvy's would'nt go to rescue another silvy driver..

Oh and the name "HUMVEE" is a nick name for High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV)...

A trail blazer really has nothing in common with the H3 as well. Their resale @ ANY trim level compared to H3 reflects that..

You would not dare take a TB where you'd easily take an H3..

If you've never owned one then "crap" is not a word I'd throw around too much..

Never confuse driver error with a vehicles actual abilites..

Dont need to own one, and good god why would I want to do a thing like that. i figured the only reason a person would go so "captain save a hummer" would be if they owned one. lol after driving one I was incredibly disappointed. again, the on road performance was poor at best, so I figured it would be better off road, but alas, no. i watched all of your videos, and that's neat, but they're not special at all, and there are many better vehicles out there for off roading that have. nice try pointing out any possible short comings of the guy who was driving tjhe h3 in my original post, but he's a freakin boss on the trails. He's done trails in his dedicated rig that make all your videos looks like a 3 year olds tonka truck course. it wasnt a driver problem, the truck just sucked. now that you mention it it may have been an 09 with the retarded fake lockers. maybe that's why it sucked, i'm not sure. offroad ability aside, i still wouldnt own one though. crappy interior, ugly exterior, underpowered, poor gas mileage, poor handling, etc etc. it really is one big comprimise mobile that does nothing well.

    check out my new h3....

hope it's been modified to make it through those pesky sand traps.

Oh and the 3700 VVT is more powerfull and just as fast in the 1/4 in a much heavier vehicle than your boat anchor v6 f-body..

Get a car worth more than $2000.00 bucks and less than 14 years old before you throw stones..

Your car would'nt even have covered my warranty premium..
    Good luck with that..

Seriously though I am just harrasing everyone back..

No hard feelings really,, it is what it is..

I also agree it's not the best truck on the market. But I did'nt buy it to be the best.

Would never have likely ever taken it into the woods if my buddies did'nt need a hand with their silvy..

It fills a need and we'll prolly be buying another next year to go with this one..

    Wait for it......waaaaiiittt.....
