I'm glad I don't get caught up in all the celebrity hype like most do.
I tend to focus on things and people that directly affect me and my life.

However rough around the edges (likely due to his being irritable because of a bad case of gas), Spaz makes some valid points.

your comparing "making the cover of a magazine" to our soldiers fighting for our freedom? They have absolutely nothing to do with each other. One is a retail magazine, who's job is to make money on what sells. Unfortunately, "Britney's underwear" is what sells and generates billions in profit for a commercial retail giant. It's disgusting that many of the wealthy in this country got their fortune by exploiting others...but it's what sells and it's what people want. And Britney has jack shit to do with our troops. Apples and oranges, man.
Spaz....your little rant might appear to "have valid points" to some, but to me it's nothing more than an ignorant, imprudent and unjustifiable judgement of someone you don't know. You hate her because she's on the news when she farts...or because she got a haircut? Okay. Great.

..that's akin to saying the NFL "exploits" all those fans out there who willingly cough up billions for tickets and merchandise..
i think spaz's point was saything that the "sensationalism", "celebrity", and scandal (i.e. meaningless crap) is readily propogated by media of all types, ...whereas the silent heros garner little attention... of course, the people who regularly lap this stuff up, buying the magazines, watching ET, etc... are half the equation...

yep, pretty much... but, i would say that it would be nicer if they took more "initiative" of their own to showcase the military and families, ..there's plenty of uplifting stories of wounded veterans overcoming obstacles, etc,... i'd think it could sell some magazines...
