This and one other board are the only ones I am a member of.
I don't count FB as it's not something I overly care about..

Can't say I liked visiting the other "tech" site much... Too many chips on shoulders..
Chips that are making thier way over to here it seems lately..

Holy shit!!! A actually debate/discussion My thoughts on this matter are this (This is the only Car Board I frequent) and while I do agree things are changing, I won't say it is for the worse. I do agree that the need for information is getting less and less important for the most part EXCEPT now that F-Bodies are becoming cheaper and easier to obtain, more/new people are buying them as we upgrade. There will always be a need for information and thats what this site is for I remember a time when I never knew AAG exsisted and I stayed in Tech area the whole time.......now besides a few questions I answer, I'm a AAG whore To make a long story short, this is how I feel:

I agree with the Mods deleting and taking out racial/over the line shit! This is ALMOST anything goes, not Anything goes!

I kinda feel like they could just delete the posts/ban the user instead of locking a awesome thread. On that note though, I can see the Mods getting tired of dealing with bullshit all the time so I can see both sides.

When a Mod warns people in a thread, people need to shut up and move on (I've been guilty of this before)

On a final note, its always easier to see it from the outside and critque when your not in the middle of it.

reigns are tight? You guys are either on crack or never go to any other boards. Go to almost any other car board on the net and post identical threads as you do here and see which place you get banned from first.......this site is more tolerant than any other car site I've been on. Sorry we don't allow racial and completely over the line stuff here....maybe this isn't the right site if that's what you're looking for.

Try Customfighters, this place is like a prison compared to that but honestly I thnk this place is pretty relaxed for the most part.

I enjoy the tech as well as the other stuff.

we go through this same exact scenario every few months......a popular thread gets closed or someone popular gets inked and you have an outbreak of people "taking a break". We try to give you guys a good mix of BS and tech and the only way that can be done is by controlling the BS because more tech is never a bad thing......ever. From time to time people start taking it overboard and normally (just like with the thread this all started with) a verbal warning is given or someone is given ink.
Where the problems start is when people don't just let it drop and keep at it. That's when threads get locked or disappear and people start "taking breaks". My advice is that if you feel you need a break then take it. The board will be here if/when you decide you want to come back. If you decide you don't want to come back the board will still be here.

I'm on a few boards and the only one that is as relaxed as here is the bullet, it more relaxed in rule enforcement in one section than here. All the others are a lot stricter. As the LSx cars become more affordable the age group of owners gets younger and the tech is less important to some of them. I like this site as well as several others. If the rules aren't enforced it becomes less enjoyable for a lot of people. I've learned that if there is an issue and you address it in a PM with a mod it typically gets handled quickly and professionally. If you make a thread bitching, you get what you deserve.

^ Lies you scare me you snap so much J/K fact is that I have been noticeing alot of the members seem to put up posts or add things to posts that seem to be a direct "screw you I will do it anyway" to the Mods. I have also seen comments about "lets see how much we can get away with" I am all for a good ol fashioned Mod cleaning (mods perma banning ect bad seeds)

the rules are there ,they (the mods) have actually let too much slide by IMHO. hell I even done some things and said some things that by the rules it shouldn't have been said or done. I am trying my damndest not to do it as much if at all.

the job I agreed to do was help the site and at no time did I agree to baby sit people. If people are childish in a thread we'll treat them like children and remove the thread...period. I have better things to do than sift through a thread full of BS to figure out who did what....thread disappears. It's an AAG thread and means absolutely nothing to me. The guys in that thread ( judging by your reply I wonder if you even know what thread we're talking about) were verbally warned by Y2K to knock it off.....several didn't so the thread went bye bye.
Also, I doubt most people on here would agree with you saying we should just ban people instead of using other means to keep the site civil.
