I'll finally be picking the engine up on Saturday. It will be dynoed then too.

My engine builder's wife has been having health problems so, that's why it's been so long. I didn't figure it was a time to be pressing him during that time.

So, here we go! Can't wait!

talk about a slow process - too many irons in the fire........BUT.......

I picked up my converter last week finally, and I sent my headers out for Jet Hot recoating two days ago. Once the headers are back, I'll put it all back together minus the accessory drive and radiator. I want to get a new March serpentine belt system for up front, and a better cooling system.

and stainless steel transmission lines too!

Interesting build. I would have expected a bit more from a 572 but it should still get the job done. Should be fun.

My original goal was to be in the 10's, on pump gas. There's no reason it shouldn't run mid-10's all day long. It will definitely be different than what I was used to!

That much HP should put you in the 10's easily with a 34-3500 lbs. car. Plenty of power. I built a pump gas 454 that dyno'd 638 HP about 6 years ago. My chevelle weighs 4,108 lbs. with me in it, I went 11.40 with that through the mufflers on drag radials. If it were typical camaro weight (~3500 lbs.) it should be close to high 10's.

Actually I've been waiting for this motor to get tired, been wanting to build a stroker for it. Gotta keep up with dad ya know . You're going to have alot of fun with that combo.

    bigger, better, faster, etc, etc,

    it never ends

On a side note - the car was running 11.70's before the change. So, the additional 180 more horsepower is really gonna be an eye opener for me I think.

The headers are back from Jet-Hot.......and look great!

I'll be working on getting the tranny lines changed out to stainless, and getting the engine stuffed back in over the next few weeks It'll look the same, but it'll be different!

Well - it took longer than "the next few weeks", but in the mean time, I was busy getting an engine and trans in my Nova. Again, still too many irons in the fire.

The Nova now has a 406 & a powerglide. It ran 7.teens in the 1/8th when we took it to the strip a few weeks ago. (I have vids)

The Camaro is all put back together. I put a Wizard Cooling custom radiator in it, a Stewart Performance water pump, and a March serpentine belt drive system in it. I just need to pour coolant in the radiator, and drop a new battery in it. (I plan to get a vid or two)

As they say, Rome wasn't built in a day.

I love the old shool stuff. I have been in this game for almost 40 years and nothing sounds like a big block engine. I happen to like the 426 Hemi but the BBC is Bad Ass, forget Ford. Cant wait until it's done.
My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

I'll try to get pics up within the next week or so!

2002ssslp - I definitely love the sound of a BBC! I used to think that was the best sounding engine I had ever heard, but...................there is one that is a close second in my book! I had an '07 ZO6 a few years back - heads, cam, headers, full exhaust..........and I'm tellin' ya, that LS7 427 at 7,000 rpms sounds AWESOME........BBC and the LS7 are by far two of my favorite sounds on the planet! And thanks!
