I'm guessing the timing chain or the something went
All I know is that it stalled on me in the middle of the lake by the main bridge (keep in mind this is the second biggest lake in the state). So I started it back up and noticed it running rough as hell. Got back over towards the shoreline and heard the damn thing rattling like crazy. So I said to hell with it, I'll ride it home and if she goes, she goes
As soon as I hit the gas, it locked upPushed it to shore, walked about 1/4 mile to the marina, called my step-father who came and towed it home with his bass boat
I sold it a while back for $400, included was a dual ski trailer, so the guy basically paid for the trailer

No timing chain in a 2 stroke, but I'd guess it had a lean meltdown or maybe the oil injection quite working or got clogged up which starved the pistons and crank of oil.

Pewter- 2002 Trans Am WS6 M6
Going to look at jetskis tomorrow. Leaning towards the 2011 yamaha vxr would love a fzr but don't think I have the budget for that.

I'd be buying a VXR if I was shopping for a new one. Its smaller and lighter, which should make way more fun/easier to toss around.

Most likely will get the VXR. Much cheaper to fuel. Same top speed as the FZR. Just doesnt have the race oriented hull, supercharger or adjustable trim options. Plus the dealer im talking to has a VXR on the lot and he will discount it to 9.5k. They retail for around 11.2k. The FZRs are about 13.5k. The FZR can take turns much sharper since its built more for racing. But just looking for a fun playtoy on the lake.

Took it out this past weekend. The thing is freaking fast. Great acceleration and top end. Had it top out at about 72 on the gauge. Most tests have shown that to be about 69 on a GPS. The acceleration of the higher FZR must be crazy with a supercharger on the same 1812cc engine. Very stable in hard turns and accel. Took hardly no effort to turn it. Scared the hell out of my nephew he refuses to ride with me now. One thing I do like about not having the supercharger is that it doesnt use hardly any gas.
