Well It will probly take about 2 grand to get you a nice rear that wont break. You can go a Ford 9 inch, a 12 bolt or a Dana 60 Strange has a nice one which they call a S60 for a f-body, And MPG will be effect on which gear ratio you would choose. A 4.10 gear is a nice set up on a M6 car. What is your budget?

The 12 bolt weighs the least and is the most efficient due to its pinion offset -- as compared to the 9" and Dana. For an M6 car, however, you should really consider a 9" if you will be launching on slicks.

Well than I would recommend Not to go crazy with launching at the dragstrip.
