And you shouldn't use a 4.1" stroke in a stock block. The deep throw will pull the piston skirts too far out of the bore. Some builders won't even use a 4.0" crank in the stock block.

The LS7 has deeper sleeves to accommodate its 4.00" crank.

I've decided that if it is the rings and needs a rebuild that I'm leaving it til college is done and buying a C6Z and let the maro be a project car or sell it! Time to do some testing and find the culprit

Why would you do a compression or leak down test? He already knows hes burning oil. I guess just to see how much in each cylinder I guess.

I originally thought the same thing but it can't hurt. It will give me an idea whats going on with the motor. I'm just mad as hell that this shit happens just after I spend thousands on the motor. Dont know. But I do know that there shouldnt be more than a 10% differance in each cylinder.
