the school district does not agree with the principal who sent them home.
a couple of the kids are half mexican and still wore the attire.
this is the United States and my beloved banner is red, white, and blue and a school district can fuck itself square in it's own ass if it thinks that just because it's a mexican/latin american holiday that the wearing of anything that does not represent that holiday is wrong. the kids wore what they wanted to that day for whatever reason it doesn't matter. the administration had no right to tell them to take the clothes off or to send them home. they were not causing a disturbance or doing anything wrong.
in fact...the only thing more wrong about sending the kids home is that the flag of the US is being used as an advertisement to sell clothing. flag code says that the flag should not be placed on clothing or on disposable items such as cups or napkins. i cringed at the sight of the kids flag pants...i mean really...he's farting and sitting on my beautiful banner all damned day. and the other kid is standing on my flag all day. THAT'S wrong. the t-shirt of the flag itself is considerably less offensive to me but still technically wrong.
all said though the actions of the school administration should be punished for their un-american actions just because they considered it threatening to public safety. well guess what. you don't walk into a bar as a cop and arrest a guy sitting at the bar holding keys ordering a beer on the offhand chance that he MIGHT chug it quick and hop in his car.

I agree that the school was dead wrong. I thought we lived in the USA not Mexico.
Why are we the only country in the world that celebrates other countries holidays. They do not celebrate ours. If you voluntarily leave your country to come here then STOP celebrating what you ran away from.
I for one am tired of our PC BS. Who gives a damn if we do not celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Does Mexico celebrate 4th of July? And as stated before most do not know what Cinco de Mayo is really about. (most people in Puebla Mexico probably do not know either)

I just watched the news, a female student stated that she found it very disrespectful for those students to wear the American Flag on their Mexican holiday...
Really?
The entitlement felt by some of these people is absolutely amazing. Either you want to be an American or you don't. If you don't... LEAVE

okay... so I just watched this a few minutes ago. While I think that it's BS to be sent home for wearing American colors. Actually, they were given a choice between turning their shirt inside out or going home (I'd have gone home too). I also tend to thing that most of these kids probably did it to make a point and it wasn't that they just happened to be wearing American items on Cinco de Mayo. One of them when interviewed said he wasn't doing it to start anything... I think he was lying about that. I'm also glad that they did. I think it's great that they were making a statement and I hope that many more will do that.
Disrespectful? seriously?! Coming to America to get away from your country, but having more pride for the country you left than the country you are in, I'd have to say that's disrespectful. If they've a problem with it, the border is that way.

like I said in the train yesterday, I don't need a reason to drink. That sounds like a woman thing to do. Guarantee 9/10 mexicans at that school don't know about the fight against the french. Next time someone wears english clothing on the anniversary of the start of the scottish rebellion against the long-shanks I have the right to whoop their ass, right??

if your an illegal sypathizer
if you side with anti gun laws
if you side with laws that take our very rights away as CITIZENS that was fought for in the reveloutionary war
If you side with street thugs
we have absolutley no use for your kind in this country!!! and I don't give a hairy rats ass if your white, black, hispanic, asian or what the fuck ever if you dont like it there are several airlines that will take you away.

Not that I condone what's being done (see my previous remarks), but this area (SouthWest America) was a part of Mexico when the 5th of May events took place, hence the celebration of a so called "Mexican holiday" (the Mexicans don't really celebrate this) in America.
Good excuse to drink; bad excuse to practice the old PC BS...

Let's call it for what it is... in the US, cinco de mayo is nothing more than an excuse to drink mas cerveza. Just like freaking Saint Patrick's day... except for the fact that the Irish immigrated a century ago and the mexicans are doing it now.
