Nice pics, Jeff. I like the fact that we are using wind as another power source. More alternate power sources will be found. Seems all these carbon footprint reduction theories are paying off.

They had turbines all over the hills in Scotland, looked pretty cool to me. It's funny how the supposed "green" liberal nuts won't allow for wind or water turbines (off the coast) or solar panels because they don't like seeing them

I heard a lot of these wind farms are funded in part by fossil-fuel power companies, buying green credits to produce more pollution.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
This is nothing. In Cali where the I10 and SR62 meet there's gotta be close to 1,000 of the damned things. I swear it's a veritable forrest...

always dirty- 2013 Ram 2014 Caddy ATS
Very cool pics. There is a ski mtn in NY that has one. In the summer you can bike right to it. They say that it makes half the power the mtn uses to operate the lifts in winter. They have talked about putting them offshore here on long island but people keep protesting them. I saw a show on discovery and they are testing some water ones in the east or harlem river. Here is what happens if they spin too fast. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nSB1SdVHqQ[/ame].

there's a company that is going to be breaking ground this spring here in my town which will be making blades for these things.

From what I saw, it appears that the blades rotate to change pitch with wind speed. There were two windmills that were stopped, and the blades were turned almost 90 degrees to the wind direction. After a while, they started back up again and the blades looked like they were turned flatter to the wind.
