2002 C5 - M6 - Blue- 2000 Z28 - A4 - Pewter
Like has been said before, shoot an email out to view the car, if you get fed some BS just laugh it up and drop the phone. Buddy of mine on the MC forums was browsing CL one day and found his own personal boat up for sale!
Talk about a surprise!
Still haven't been updated as to what the "supposed owner's" story was. But you talk about a scam

Yeah i'm sure its a scam. He won't reply to any of my emails asking about an update on proof of insurance. Oh well, sad to see such a good deal go down the drain haha

..there was an ad for a late model chevy pickup..pretty decent price..lots of photos..I notice it has a subframe for a plough subframe mount under the front end...that's odd because the add did not mention the truck being a 4 wheel drive, or any mention of having ploughed...the fact that this could be a 4x4 made it a real deal..so I email and say I want to see the truck AND IF IT"S A 4x4 and where can I see it ..the email comes back...yes it's a 4x4...and yes there is a plough available..but no mention where it can be seen...and it goes on about some "song and dance"...bottom line WHY do these people do this..steal identity, depreciate a specific vehicle type, scam with cheques (nigerian offer)..someone may try to corrupt the sites that offer commerce..for one reason or another..so I WOULDN'T SWEAT IT...just keep looking and you will find a decent camaro...stick with dealers if you want to be sure..altough I'm sure there are bona fide private sellers out there..and above all you get what you pay for..good luck

Light Pewter Metallic- y2k 8-cylinder catfish
I'd have to see, drive, get a history report and have that car looked over by a reputable mechanic before I dropped as much as a cent on it.

Ya, that's why I don't care for photobucket or any other kind of paste and stick it photo websites.
It's not a surprise what people nowadays do with identity anymore. Anyway they can make a buck they will do it.
There are people out there now that steal your serial number to make a duplicate of a collector car, then use it as collateral against something to collect money.
Next thing you know debt collectors are banging on your door.
Which is why I keep tape covering all my serial numbers on all the cars. Even though that is illegal here in AZ, as I found out when having cars inspected after moving out here. I do it anyway.
It's a sad world for sure.Last edited by Firebirdjones; 02-23-2010 at 05:42 AM.
