Made by presto, at temp in 9 minutes, small to store. Doesn't take a lot of oil. Gets dah job done for cheap!
That's what I had. That and the fry baby. Both pretty decent for occasional deep frying.

Cheaper on oil is the big thing. Like, you cook chicken pattys, fish sticks, onion wrings, anything with breading in there, and then put french fries in, and they will get little black specs on them. It makes me go FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Get one which has a lid and you can raise and lower the basket with the lid closed. Keeps from splattering everywhere. Mine is the Frydaddy I believe...

It's the best way. Just place it over the basket and pour the oil in the clean container slowly. Scoop out any yuck several times during your straining so it doesn't clog up.

Then when you have it cleaned out well, do it often so it doesn't get yucky again

I donated both my fryers a few years ago.

I used regular vegetable oil in one and shortening in the other.

Maximatic Elite Platinum SS double fryer. It has two 4 qt sides (completely separate) with independent controls, elements, and baskets. We only use it for fries and pre-breaded/fried chicken. Stays clean, had cool touch lids for each side, and works great. We don't use it that much, but it does work better than the ones we've had before.
