    Correct!, which means when he added a resistor the voltage drop was far beyond the needed voltage to illuminate the LED. Damn' the missing link!

    i tried it without the resistor too guys...sorry lol.

    i read the voltage across the front of the gauges while they were in the car...it was like 11.9v
