Had my T/A done professionally, don’t do it yourself! I had the back window done at 50%and the sides to 30%.....All legal here in Wisconsin. I paid 250.00 to have it done.

Got 35% all around on mine. It is legal this way...Indiana. Looks great. The shape of the car makes it look alot darker than it really is. Paid 140...Ive done them myself but waste alot of tint. One piece tint on back and looks great.

Ditto. The 20% all around on my silver paint looks perfect, and never got a problem from the cops. The windows are usually down when I'm driving it anyway.

I did my front windows myself but I've done it a few times. I won't f with the back glass! So I paid to get it done. 35% is the lowest legal in MS, so in order to pass expectation that's what I put on it.

I always figured that for an anti-Mafia measure.
Using Google, I answered my own question. Out-of-state drivers can be punished for violating local tint laws. Familiarize yourself - http://www.ehow.com/how_2083903_obey...ndow-tint.html
Funny thing is that I might qualify for a medical exemption, but my aging car isn't going on any long trips. It seems to me that if you generally don't attract police attention (for speeding, etc.) or drive with windows down like in my great avatar, you don't have to worry much about illegal tinting.

Each state is different and has the authority to ticket out-of-state drivers should their window tinting be darker than the legal allowable limit. I have looked up window tinting percentages allowed by each state and have posted them here in this web address. Keep this in mind, if one keeps their nose clean, one has less tendency to be harassed for window tinting issues. Depending on the officer involved, and his or her willingness to extend mercy, we should try to obey local laws and in thus doing, would keep said officers from 'lowering the boom' on such ridiculous charges as tinting overages. In my opinion, they should let us protect our vehicles from UV damage and allow us to look cool, without retribution!!!

Got a guy in town who removed my old tint and re-tinted the car for 125.00 I felt sorry for him though, he spent serveral hours on it, mainly the rear window due to the defrost strips, and done an outstanding job. I would recommend getting them tinted, just check your local laws for percentage amounts to be legal if you don't want a ticket.

So for all you Indiana guys; where did you get it done? I'm looking to get mine done in the near future & I'm not sure who to go to. We have quite a few tinting shops here in Indy...
Any for anyone in the U.S. looking for tint laws for your state: http://www.tintlaws.com/
