thats what i just put on my car. not bad to install. i had to drop the driveshaft because i couldnt get the top peice around it with my umi torque arm on. the only problem i ran into was it wouldnt bolt in without pounding the floor in to make room for it.

Anyone have pics of their Lakewood loops? Would it fit a car that still has the stock Y-pipe? Not to keen on "pounding the floor in" on our car.

it should fit on a car that has stock y-pipe. i wasnt to into denting the floor either but no one would notice it so i just did it for safety reasons. maybe i just got a loop machined wrong or something.

Can you elaborate? Did the holes not line up, or was it interfering with the torque arm?

That said, if you have a PST or Strange after market drive shaft and running a drag radial... I personally wouldn't worry about the safety loop. If you have a full slick, then its needed. But if you have the extra cash, it cant hurt.

I thought if your car ran faster than 100 mph in the 1/4 that a safety loop was mandatory.

every track is different....i think ours required a loop if you ran under 11 seconds

I found this chart: http://www.nhra.com/competition/etquickref.aspx But it simply refers to Rule 2:4 which I can not seem to locate on-line. Guess I have to buy the Rule Book for the answer. I think there is something about slicks vs. street tires, so Hi-Po is probably right.

Absolutely!! I've seen the stock aluminum shafts twist on these cars with stock rear rubber. I was up at Norwalk and watched 2 stock 4th gens drop their aluminum shafts right on the starting line.

Anyone that knows Norwalk knows their track prep is awsome, you lose a shoe when you walk on it.
