I say belt. They probably got coolant on it and now its noisey. Try a gatorback belt. Do both the main serp belt and the AC belt at the same time.

Sounds exactly like a cricket and gets louder if I accelerate, especially if I punch it

your parts store should carry it. I got mine from autozone. try removing the a/c belt and drive around for a bit with just the main belt. that should help narrow it down. if its a belt thing.

GOTTA be a belt. I've heard that exact noise a million times.

The A/C compressor ahs a clutch, bearings etc. but I was basing the thoughts on the fact that you said it gets quiet in Park and makes the noise at speed - especially accelerating. Normal belt or pulley noises don't do that - they are usyually most prominent at idle and rarely happen when driving at speed.

Where my exhaust crossed over above the panhard bar it slightly rubbed. It sounded just like crickets chirping. Became more prominent when I downshifted.

Had this same issue when I installed the Magnaflow catback. Sliding the mid-pipe about a quarter inch back off the y-pipe allowed the system to clear the panhard bar. I caught it on the original install, but it certainly would have made noise otherwise.
