I have owned painted rotors before for my car and bike.

EBC performance rotors come with a black zinc coat for both cars and bikes. they are a great rotor. The coating comes off the suface pad, but stays on that hat, and looks good.

The rotors posted here, is are fucking wrong.. if your going to paint them, paint only the hat and the veins, not surface area.. .. not yellow either!

It's probably not far from it. Several yards off to the side, with the aroma of hot enamel wafting through the atmosphere.

I saw a Mustang in a car museum years ago that had a completely chromed undercarriage including all suspension parts. Included were the disks. One look told me it had never been driven since the day it was put together. I kind of wondered what the point was.

Ive painted a set before. All you do is use your old pads to remove where the brakes "ride" then swap on your new set of pads it leaves the hat and area around painted so it doesnt rust. It doesnt really affect your braking very much if any, just dont go out and fly up on someone then slam on the brakes and she will stop just fine.

If you are talking to me the interior is all black. If you want a good look & some background on the car please see my new member introduction "Salutations from Sunny South Florida". The color coded interior is a little too boy tuner for my tastes. I like the monochromatic interior it looks a lot more business.
Sorry to hijack the thread. Please continue cracking on this rotor painting simple person. They deserve it!

You are a brave person. Why go through the time, expense, labor & materials for that. Why not just utilize implements such as tape, paper & a razor blade so as to avoid all that aggravation? Not to mention getting a more "professional" appearance & not being perpetually ragged on by posters on LS1.com! Don't be giving me any guff over this response or the truly sensible will start posting about YOU.

I like that blue interior. I have a buddy that's scouring the country for a blue on blue low mileage 06 right now. I wish they would've offered yellow with my yellow jacket.....I would've hunted one of those down.

There is no such thing as reality. Only the individual's perception of what they believe it to be, based upon the influences that are inflicted upon them up & until that point in time.
IE: If you like it, then it is so. Enjoy!

LOL! Why would someone take the time to paint rotors that cant be seen? Maybe when they park they set it on jack-stands, and pull the wheels.
Cause you sure as hell cant see the rotors on vettes with those wheels anyway.

So, you can tape in a perfect circle? I highly doubt it. There isnt any expense aside from a can of paint, plus I was already doing the calipers so there isnt any real added labor on top of it.

Remember, when using a razor: it's down the highway, not accross the street.

If you wanna get real tricky you can go the extra mile & utilize an "exacto knife". I don't have to explain the principal of placing the tape over the edge of the curve & then cut off the over run to match said curve do I? If I do then I am outta here! Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go shove an Endoscope into my combustion chamber.
