Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
True.
Everyone has their own way of breaking something in.
Technically there is no break in time needed...other than a heat cycle.
If you want to be safe...be easy on it. Good luck with that though.2008 Trailblazer SS

Point I was referring to is part of the $400 labor is after everything is done he empties the oil and fills it up with Mobil 1, that's part of the deal.

Not going to make a worlds of diff, but M6 cars like the 112 better, power comes in a few hundred RPMs quicker, and it peaks a few more hp. First choice was a 112.

In what powerband?Last edited by Hurley711; 01-29-2006 at 10:00 AM.

I just ordered a regular old TR224 .563 114, that's all I asked for. Guess that's straight up then?

Guys, you may be forgetting there really isn't a break-in for hydraulic roller cams.
When you break in a flat tappet cam, you are supposed to really coat the lobes and lifter faces with assy lube, then vary the rpms in a range from 1500 to 3000 or so for 15-20 minutes to get good oil circulation in the crank case. You'll generate a slight amount of metal, but thats a non issue in an LS1.
Heat cycles for the springs = good advice.
EDIT - didn't see that there was a second page, good luck to you Hurley - Enjoy!Last edited by hammertime; 01-29-2006 at 07:20 AM.

Thanks!! I'm excited, did plenty of research on this cam, and time and time again it came back to the good ole TR224. Others peaked more hp, but I don't track race, and rarely drive above 5000 RPMs and teh TR224 seemed to own other cams with the under the curve powerband.
