Well, when I brought my Papillon home he decimated his crate shitting and puking. He was extremely stressed out. It was almost an hour drive though.
After that, he would just get car sick. Typically after the 3 mile mark. So, I did the around the block thing with him for about a month and then the nearest park thing and it seemed to work.
If you don't feel that it is a stress/nerve related issue... then I don't know what to tell you.
Does she have normal bowel movements otherwise? Have you changed her food? Does she have a regular eating schedule? There are lots of variables.
I've raised dogs for many years and done a lot of rescue. But, thankfully I don't have tons of experience with car sick dogs nor dogs that relieve themselves in the car either.
Maybe the Vet will have an idea to help your situation.
How old is she?

I'm thinking it's nerves/stress related. Even if she jumps right in when you are getting ready to go. It's different once you fire it up and start moving. It can take a mile or two before she starts feeling uncomfortable.
Heh... I almost made it all the way to Petco one time with Caleb. But, he let loose and puked all over his car seat about a block away from the store.
So, that was when I started just taking him on very short trips several times a week.
You should give it a try. I think it might help you. She's still real young. That first car ride is still fresh in her memory. Caleb will turn 1 year on 4/15. He was 6 months old when I got him so was very aware of the fact that he was being taken from the only home he had known for 6 months with a stranger. But, even at 8 weeks (and sometimes even more so depending on the dog and how well the breeder weaned them. 8 weeks is very young...) it's the most stressful time of their lives.
They just need to face the fear in small increments
