440 RWHP / 410 TQ- 2000 SLP CAMARO SS
I am sure you are not involved in that kinda stuff Captain, its usually has nothing to do with the dealership. I know 99% of the people there are good, its just that one guy that wants to make a little more money on the side! Its hard to turn down 1K to cut a key hand it to a guy with an address on it!
As for not running cats, its not my DD. I get to drive my Camaro about once a month, if I am lucky!2000 SLP Camaro SS M6 * 515 HP TrickFlow Package * FAST 92 MM Intake * Nick Williams 92 MM TB * Volant CAI * Granatelli MAF * Full Custom True Dual Exhaust with X-Pipe * Tuned by Breathless Performance

Interesting for sure. I've never used the key fobs, just not my thing. I have always locked the doors with the door switch and used the keys to open it. My wife likes them however
At the race track where loud cars are around I have to lock the doors by manually moving the locks so the alarm won't set,,,you could imagine why,,,lol.

Wow! I am so sorry to hear that
I remember your post about the car jacking too.
That is soooo wrong. I'm afraid I have nothing to say to make you feel better though.
But, I do feel for you!
Will the insurance take care of it?

The easiest way to steal a car is to simply get the VIN number, they then have an inside man at a dealership cut a key for the vehicle, then they just drive it off. Also another thing that we have seen is in the new vehicles there is what they are calling a "valet key" it is in the manual and you are supposed to leave it with a valet so they dont have all of your other keys. Well alot of people dont know about it or dont care and they leave the manual in the glove box, so someone breaks in and bam, theres the key to the car.

My only advice would be to not put all that expensive crap in the car, especially out in plain view. Or at least don't put this stuff in a daily driver. I know kids nowadays like their toys but that stuff is just asking for trouble.
Won't make ya feel better I know, but alot of times theives aren't looking for cars but looking in cars for easy stuff to snatch and sell quickly for profit.

Keep the stocker in it's original location and then put the good one in the glove box. Thats what I do on all my classic cars so it looks stock.
I've never had the need to change the factory radio on the 4th gens, I liked them the way they came, and no one wants to steal the stock head units.
Besides,,,,he said they also stole his $1,000 navi screen (what ever the hell that is) But it sounds expensive enough that I wouldn't want it in my car,,,thats got thief written all over it

I had a stereo stolen one time while I was on the other side of the wall!!! (attached garage) I had a lot of equipment in my t/a--also had a paging alarm; but the smartest thing to do is install it so that it cannot be quickly taken. If you are interested in what I did with the two subs and 3 amps etc to keep them in the car, hit me up and I'll give you any advice I can! I also don't agree with leaving stuff out of my car that I enjoy because some asshole thinks he can take it!

It's not living in fear... It's living smart. And, not making yourself an easy target for the scumbags trolling around for a quick take on your investment
And, it is sad that people have to worry about their belongings being stolen. But, it's also a reality. There are people who do nothing else but go about their days or nights ripping people off. It's their chosen career
