I rarely dyno ANY of my cars!

I could car less about ANY #'s. I tune them at the track. Couldn't tell you. Shit that was 7-8 tears ago.

I love it when people come to the track talking shit in the staging lanes about how their car just dyno'd 550 to the wheels and goes out there and runs 12.80's all night. . . . . .

97 GTs run like mid to high 14s na. Not low 12s without a blower or other combo.

imo mods on a 2valve 4.6 are a fuckin waste of money. I'm not surprised at all the thing felt slow. Of course theres fast 2 valve gt's, but they have complete motor builds, PI heads that are ported, cams, intake manifold etc. with 4.6's the 3 and 4 valve heads are the way to go. I'll never one a 2 valve 4.6. Total waste of good money

So, I take it for ride. As soon as I start it, I notice she has aftermarket exhaust. It sounded good, but I didn't think anything of it.

So I start driving...get on it a few times, and I think, "Hey, this things not bad for stock." I didn't know it was supercharged until I got back, and her dad told me it was. I kept hearing a whine but, I thought that since it didn't feel too powerful, it may have been a vacuum line or something just whistling.

Anyway...shouldn't this thing just shit 'n' get with a supercharger? Maybe it wasn't properly tuned, or even tuned at all? I know they bought it used with the supercharger on it, so they have never had it taken to a dyno shop or anything like that.

Any input would be appreciated. I've just never driven one of those, and was wondering if they're all that weak with a supercharger.

Also...the ground was wet, but it didn't feel like the tires were breaking loose. Maybe traction was the issue? The car is also a 5 speed.
could be a vaccum line issue, did the car have gears? The big question is what supercharger and how many #'s of boost did it have. Some power dyne supercharger's only make 40-60hp at 8 pounds................

I'm pretty sure this car is totally stock except for the supercharger.

Maybe you forgot to mention the 4.56 gears, dramatic weight reduction, no A/C, no nothing. No way would you go 11.70's w/ 6-8 psi in "streetable" trim on ANYONE'S tune. Not in a '96-98 GT with stock cam & heads. I've seen some cases where the convertible cars were still in the low 14's with intake/exhaust on low boost. These cars are 'honest' low 15 to high 14-second cars at traps in the high 80's to very low '90's (depending on coupe or conv). If you don't believe me just go over to MustangForums and ask. We already had this discussion and not one person debated it, not even the SN95 4.6 owners. One example was when MM&FF flogged the crap out of a purple '97 GT 5-speed and finally broke out of the 15's with a 14.99 at the end of the day. I don't see 7.5 lbs of boost getting you 11.70's period.

It really depends but I bets its a stock Non-PI engine with a couple bolt-ons and then the blower. Probably around 300rwhp.

So - all stock and with 7.5 lbs of boost and DR's you went from modest 14.5's down to 11.70's?

Is that what you're trying to say?

I say the same thing about 302s...
which would be typical of a 4.6 owner. Till a 5.0 with some ported heads, a cam and an intake pisses all over your blown built 2 valve.
