I had one (97) with STOCK heads and cams, gears, drag radials,& 7.5 lbs of boost it went 11.70's ALL day on MY tune.
So yes it can be done I'm stating facts not opinions.Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

I rarely dyno ANY of my cars!
I could car less about ANY #'s. I tune them at the track. Couldn't tell you. Shit that was 7-8 tears ago.
I love it when people come to the track talking shit in the staging lanes about how their car just dyno'd 550 to the wheels and goes out there and runs 12.80's all night. . . . . .

imo mods on a 2valve 4.6 are a fuckin waste of money. I'm not surprised at all the thing felt slow. Of course theres fast 2 valve gt's, but they have complete motor builds, PI heads that are ported, cams, intake manifold etc. with 4.6's the 3 and 4 valve heads are the way to go. I'll never one a 2 valve 4.6. Total waste of good money

Maybe you forgot to mention the 4.56 gears, dramatic weight reduction, no A/C, no nothing. No way would you go 11.70's w/ 6-8 psi in "streetable" trim on ANYONE'S tune. Not in a '96-98 GT with stock cam & heads. I've seen some cases where the convertible cars were still in the low 14's with intake/exhaust on low boost. These cars are 'honest' low 15 to high 14-second cars at traps in the high 80's to very low '90's (depending on coupe or conv). If you don't believe me just go over to MustangForums and ask. We already had this discussion and not one person debated it, not even the SN95 4.6 owners. One example was when MM&FF flogged the crap out of a purple '97 GT 5-speed and finally broke out of the 15's with a 14.99 at the end of the day. I don't see 7.5 lbs of boost getting you 11.70's period.

I just found out the car is a 1996. Don't know if that makes any difference.
