Amazing how you can do everything right by the book, and still have problems. I think its obvious what the issue is, and its not the installation, its the product.
If I kept track of all the people that I've heard of installing spec clutches and having them burn up within a few thousand miles I'd have quite a compliation.

I took a spec out after I bought mine, Garbage. I planned to make more power so I put a textrailla in mine. Been great, going strong after 18000 miles . still grabs like new at the track. little expensive but my opinion is over do it and you shouldn't have to worry for a long time unless you can't drive.

It's refreshing to be honest about how bad these Spec clutches really are.
On the other Ls1 forum it's almost taboo to mention the truth about Specs.
Also on the other LS1 forum, there is member and/or ex-sponsor that goes
by the name of Spec-01. He always seems to makes post defending his
product.
I know Spec sells alot of clutches. But I've been asking myself. Is it bad
engineering, materials or both ? I was also wondering if Spec clutches have incompatibility issues with the hydraulics on our cars.

Well I've been following these boards for 9 years now. I'd say prolly 28 out of 30 posts I''ve read over the years about aftermarket clutch issues were SPEC clutches. Sure some people have no issues, too few and far between for my taste. When I read of someone having problems with one now I have no sympathy for them as I've been saying this for years.

It's unfortunate that some of us had to learn the hard way.
Including myself. Now I know better.
