I always do, i paid 10 bucks more for a shovel made in USA vs. the Chinese equal. I also always buy chippewa boots, i figure i'd rather pay $180 for a 100% American made boot (they do have cheaper non american made boots also) vs. $100 plus for a pair of timberlands made in china. When sneaker shopping i look at new balance, some of their sneakers are made in america.

I always look. Some of the best and longest tools I have are made in America. Shit made in china is just that shit. Built to the lowest passable quility possible.

I wanted a quality bike helmet when i was buy so i got an AGV... Italian fucking sweet right... Made in china...
But this is what happens when you have a government that says we have to have EPA regulations, wages, retirement, health care, and so forth... But will not say that no good from a country that does not have those things can enter the USA...
If i became a dictator that is the first thing i would do... If you didnt meet/exceed what we expect from our home business you may not sell in my country... I have nothing against buy a good from China or any other place, but that is only if they figure out a way to make a better good more effieciently than our local factories can do while still playing by the same legislation and rules...

It's a sad state of affairs.
I know as far as my electronics go... I'm pretty much supporting China.
But, two years ago I re did my kitchen. All appliances. Have always bought Kenmore because they have always been made in the USA. The first year I had this 'new' kitchen, I had the repair guy out six times. While going through the paperwork and the part numbers for repairs, I noticed that they were all made in Mexico!
My old fridge is still in the garage. Say's made in USA on all tags and works like a champ. I had to go and 'upgrade' to all stainless!
Nothing works right in my kitchen. My stove, fridge or dishwasher!

I hate buying foreign made crap, especially from Walmart. It costs a little more for made in USA but it usually is much better quality. only need to buy one made in the USA for $30 that lasts as long as three made in china for $15 a piece. Only thing is it's damn near impossible to find anything made in the US. I think it really is a reason why we as a country have gotten into such a financial mess. Instead of keeping the money in the country, it goes to others. That goes for foreigners and illegals as well - basically make the money send it home and spend it elsewhere.
Sorry for the rant - but I think it's time for a revolution

Don't go to walmart! I think there are websites with listings of stuff made or what stores sell stuff made in the usa. I know it comes up alot on other forums I visit. I buy most of my stuff online, but groceries the little family owned store down the road from my house. It costs more, but I just feel better keeping the money here.
