I was wondering that same question myself. I hate college and hate going everyday. In 3 semesters I've earned a whopping 11 credits, cause I end up dropping all but one class. I've nearly screwed myself over now.

Colorado State pretty much sucked cause I'm not very sociable. And now I've transferred to a community college and its just like high school all over again.

You are 100% like me. I am so far behind but after sitting and really thinking about it I don't care about the time it takes to get there its all about whats at the end. At least I look at it that way now. We need to get our asses in check. I work probably 60 hours a week and then take 5 courses so I am dirt ass tired everyday. I am going to lighten up my work schedule so I can do well in school.

Ok.. so .. REAL majors ARE difficult. I majored in Biology. Go try to learn organic chemistry and tell me its easy. College was hard, I thought about quitting or moving to a major like business that I could sleep through and pass with flying colors.

Think of the job opportunities u will have when u get out. My job field REQUIRES a degree, I make close to six figures and I am 25. Also think of it as if you and someone else are competing for a position, the one with the degree will most likely win (especially w/ the economy this is important).

Thinking along material terms, think of all the badass car parts you will be able to afford when you get that awesome job after college!!! Plus, there are tons of hot college chicks ... no further explanation needed LOL

I was majoring in mechanical engineering but....yeah math is not my bag. I have to finish though I know its the only way for me to go anywhere in my field (Project Management). I always get excited for the next semester but nothing ever changes once I start.

How much time you got left in school? Project Management is where its at in my field.. good choice. Just go thru the motions, study, make sure you relax once in a while.. itll go fast.

3 years left. I went to one CC before I transferred to my other and the credits didn't transfer from my other school. That was a big bummer. I had take both of my english's, both of my science's, both of my economics, and now I have to take them all again.

stick with it man, i've just finished up my 5th semester of Engineering, and its really tough, but anything that is hard is worth doing, if that wasn't the truth everybody would be successful and we all know that isn't true

If you think sticking with college is tough... Try getting up at 4:00am to go pump out barges in a saltwater bay on a daily basis because you are in charge of running the pumps on a construction project. It gets old fast...

I'm 50 years old and trying to figure out what I want to do for the next twenty years. I don't know if I want to stay in "hands on" technology, I think I would be bored if I were a full time editor or journalist, and I have too much gray hair to be picked up for full time sponsorship with my race car... I like doing weddings but despite pricing kyself high thre really isn't enough (after taxes) to do it full time, and so now I am trying to figure out what I want to do.

Maybe I will go do a "turn around" job for a company in my area that is looking for someone, or maybe I will help a buddy of mine take his auto dealership into the virtual world... Maybe I will get back into music and travel a bit....

What I do know is that if I want to stay close to home, have a secure job with benefits, and be paid anywhere near what my experience is worth, the options are few and far between because I don't have that piece of paper.

I lost motivation like you. I started drinking too much, broke up with a multi year girlfriend, and ended up sleeping with just about every female I could find both on an off campus. I became opinionated and really pissed off some professors. My grades slipped and I screwed myself. Two months after I was supposed to graduate I woke up in my car on Cape Cod and realized I was living in my car, showering at a carpet dealers warehouse, and had nowhere to go but up....

I worked my way up with the carpet dealer from cutting to installing, to sales, and ended up with a comapny vehcile and salary package within six months.

I did all kinds of things.

The key for you is not how the world is today, but how it might be 20-30 years from now when yo0u have two kids in school and medical bills. You need to keep options open that you don't even know you might need.

Nobody ever apologized for having a great education and having the paper to go with it is today, almost as important.

I graduated from high school with a full time job (well 39 1/2 hours a week so i wouldn't be considered full time) and went to a community college a hour away taking anywhere from 13 to 16 credits. My commute was a hour each way, while my homework was never too difficult it was very time consuming and it took skill and patience since i was a graphic design student. After 2 years I changed majors and schools, from the community college to a state university where i will have my BS that will have only take me 6 years. But in the end i know it will all be worth it, i have done years of using my muscle at work instead of my mind and i found out that isn't what i want to do with my life. There is really no advice i think i can give you, if YOU want to stay YOU are the one who is going to have to push yourself to be better. With the job market the way it is you have to market yourself and be able to show who you are and what you know and a college degree can only help.

    Sorry for the long post.

Welp. I'll tell you the same thing I tell/show my son..
I hold up my paycheck and my wifes...
I work 86 hours per paycheck, and fairly hard. She works two days a week from home.
I get 8 paid holidays a year. She gets 15. I work 11 hours a day. She works 7 ish.
I work in a Mechanical repair facility, hot in summer, cold in the winter, get wet and dirty all the time. (Not bitching, I LOVE my job, but merely to illustrate) She works in a climate controlled enviroment. I eat on the run, don't get a lunch most days ( I am the Store Manager, it's just how it is) She has a Fully Stocked Breakroom.. soda. coffee. breakfast bars. cereal. fruit. etc.. ALL FREE. and gets a MIN of an hour for lunch.
I take home 1650 every two weeks. She takes home 2,000. I don't have a degree.. but I have 20 years of experience in my field. She has 4 years experience and four pieces of paper. Oh, did I mention I get two weeks vaca ? She gets FIVE..
    STAY IN SCHOOL...

Sectional barge, bolted together, witha 110T crane on it and 4 spud piles holding it in position in a tidal area... If it is too tight things will break, too loose and it sinks... The answer is to allow it to be loose enough to move with the water and ice but not so loose as to take on any water too quickly, therefore: pumps.

Watch the news on the economy or visit your local unemployment agency... Now that's depressing. That should give ya all the motivation you need.
