BTW, I hate to say it but they'll probably declare the car a total with that much mileage on it. My 98 had 174,xxx on it when I bought it back in May. KKB value was $5,650 and I paid $5k for it.

Here in Ca. UM coverage only covers 3500.00 if the other driver is uninsured. You got hit, so the other person's ins will cover you car, of course....so your um covered the whole car or your deductible?

He had no insurance total was just over $5000 minus my $400 ded with allstate.

My wife was picking up my daughter from the babysitter and a mexican woman with no insurance or driver's license pretty much t-boned her.

No pictures yet, but the door panel is shattered, the rear quarter-panel is broke, the rear wheel is all fucked up, and when she went to move the car off the road it wouldn't go any direction and "something was making a lot of noise". I don't know if it's the transmission itself or maybe a broke rear end or driveshaft. It was already on the flatbed when I got there and I was more preoccupied with my daughter and wife and figuring out what happened to really look at it. (They are fine)

I'm guessing it's going to be totaled, its a 99 with 163K miles (long drives to work).

Anyone have any guesses on the value? I don't know how insurance companies figure that shit. I have USAA if it matters.

I just went and took a better look at it.

When the woman hit the car she hit the rear wheel and pretty much snapped the trailing arms and random suspension pieces. I have pics I took with my phone that I can email to someone if they will host them.

Man. I feel for you... Really happy your family is ok, Sucks about your car man.. Really, I had a car wrecked from under me and it's like losing your dog/family member almost sorta kinda.
