There is really short, a little shorter than stock, and stock. The shorter a TA gets, the more it plants the rear tires on hard throttle.... but it also makes brake-hop worse, and you have to consider where they mount and all the loads involved.
I run full-length arms, and if you want if off the transmission mount we use a relocation bracket that moves it to the tranny crossmember which in turn is mounted to a MUCH stronger part of the floorpan than the tunnel brace area. And you stay with a full length TA, which I prefer and there are plenty of folks pulling good 60's on full length versions. All of them are shown on my website under "suspension".Sam Strano

I already had just the HPM T/A installed on my 97 SS. I got into an accident and the T/A held it's ground. As we got to the last bolt taking the T/A off after the accident, the T/A popped as the body was under pressure.
One thing that you all do not realize about the HPM T/A (and I forgot to mention) is that it has a total of 5 mounting points. One is directly in front of where the T/A and Brace mount together. The other is next to next to where the LCA bolt is. The original owners of HPM recommended that the T/A be welded in.
The HPM T/A takes a lot of stress off of the tunnel brace holes. Yes, not all, but more than your typical tunnel mounted T/A's. Think about where the force is exerted the most.
I already have the SFC's and T/A installed, and I can assure you that it is solid! It ain't goin anywhere!Last edited by 9t8z28; 01-29-2008 at 02:48 PM.
