..that's about the most ridiculous apples to watermelons comparison I've heard in quite a while.. ...how many of these "other things" are contagions? ...each ebola infected host can be contagious for what they're saying up to 3-4 weeks time... that person could come into close contact w/ a large number of unsuspecting people on public transit, the mall, etc...

    You should watch this video.

If you want to fear for your life over 2-3 people dying from Ebola (0.0000009375% of the population)....feel free. You're more likely to be struck by lightning twice on your way to cashing in your winning powerball ticket than catching it.

HIV is one to answer your question. Been in the USA for 40+ years. It's twice as likely to be transmitted than Ebola based on scientific study. How many people are having sex today in America? My guess would be nearly 100% of those aged 16 and up (probably younger). Many of which do not wear protection and have sex with multiple partners, who have sex with multiple partners, etc. Much faster potential spread than this. How many people have HIV after 40+ years of this? 3% of the population.

I am on a plane 2x a month and I'm flying right into Dallas in less than 2 weeks. I'm not scared one bit . Now I'm not saying I'm totally dismissing it and that I'll freely sit next to a person hacking up blood. I'm just saying I'm not going to go into panic mode until there's a reason to. People blow things out of proportion in my opinion which makes things MUCH worse for everyone.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. Fear mongering is only going to make things worse and when people become hysterical they act irrationally.

There's quite a few people in this thread that don't understand ebola and how it is transmitted. They're buying into the fear mongering to further a political agenda... nothing more.

I agree with you though, not much to get worried about.

I know exactly how it's transmitted......which is why i have a right to be concerned. It's easy to pass it off as fear mongering when you have no real threat of getting it.

I don't buy into the political agenda especially if you are talking conspiracy theories lol. I know some people think ebola is a hoax and not real as well which is ridiculous it is definitely real.

Amazing, right? ALL those people wanted to CREATE and SUSTAIN awareness, but not a SINGLE person has talked about it since the "fad" dropped off.

Yes, I know, but if you compare it to the thousands of other "charity" organizations out there, it actually ranks "high"....what does that tell you?
