rope - a - dope ( a form of laying against the ropes and covering up and letting the other fighter punch themselvs out perfected by ali ) . he could tie you up to the point of complete frustration. Ali had good hand speed too with good stamina and was saving that beautiful face for his later retarded years.

Tyson had serious heavyweight power with a lightweight's speed - something frazier and foreman did not have. Ali would not be able to dodge or block tyson's right hook for 10 straight rounds.
Also mike had the intimidation factor because every other fighter KNEW they couldn't beat him.

I agree he was the master, I just don't think he could rope-a-dope Tyson's blows.
I 100% agree. Tyson was pretty much the fastest Heavyweight of all time. Watching his matches was sick and when I watched his documentary.......he was like a laser he was that quick. Pack that with his power and sleepy nite nite

I believe Tyson would KO Ali -
not sayin' it'd be easy, but I think that'd be the outcome

Yes but only after he was beaten half to death and then recruited Mr Miagi to be his trainer and had 15-20 minutes of a kick ass training montage all while dealing with that idiot Paulie and trying to convince Adrian that he needs to do this just this one more time.Last edited by wicked1; 11-15-2010 at 04:36 AM. Thats if he could land that one shot before wearing himself out. Ali was very good and making you just barely miss to draw you in and then tagging you. Hence the frustration factor. Ali really didnt come up with the "rope a dope" until he fought Foreman. As was already stated Foreman wasnt exactly a light weight and one time he said himself he hit Ali so hard he thought for sure he broke at least 3 ribs. Ali wrapped him up, got in his ear, laughed and said"That all you got big George?" And Foreman thought to himself yep thats pretty much it.

Tyson would have won if they were both in their prime. but like said above it wouldnt have be easy. At just under six feet tall and at a fighting weight of 218 lbs. Tyson could throw four punches in under one second. Amazing for any boxer much less a heavyweight!

cant deny what ali and tyson did for the sport.
Tyson was really the last hope/hype for boxing as a popular sport. Since then MMA has done well taken away the spot light.
(some of the smaller boxer have had good followings, but nothing like tysons fame)
However I believe there where better fighters before Ali and or Tyson. Tougher boxers such as Rocky Marciano.
Rocky Marciano would have been a great fight for either tyson or ali.
49 wins, 0 losses, with 40-43 wins by knockout.
Italian Americans boxers dominated.

ROCKY!!! ROCKY!!! ROCKY!!! I have heard people say Marciano wouldve beat Ali. Again we'll never know. It is really hard to nail down the greatest anything of all time. Its much easier to pick the greatest of any given era.

i really hope your kidding, as much as i still love boxing to this day, it is nowhere near the money maker that mma is.
on topic, alot of people are forgetting how fast tyson actually was, he was amazingly fast in his prime, i am pretty certain he would have ko'd ali in 2 or 3 rounds.
