found the idling part of my problem. Ok first off no bashing!!! HAHA. I did the egr mod and it looks like I barely cut off just a little too much pipe that was sticking down on the inside of the intake. It was leaking air into the intake. Looks like a crescent moon if you can imagine what Im talking about where the upper tube is bonded to the intake flange right below where the rubber gasket seals it off to the intake. Total epic fail, I know, dumb ass at work here people. Feel free to just stand back and laugh. Thanks for all your ideas.

No worries. As a mechanic myself, I've had my fair share of situations like that. As long as it's fixed that's main thing.

yes, it apears to have leaned back out and runing good again. It was kinda weird though, when it had the vaccum leak I drove it about 300 miles back and fourth to work because I had to and it never threw a code for not having the cats. As soon as I got the leak fixed I cleared the comp by disconecting the batt over night. It took about 70 miles on the interstate to set the ses light. I wonder how that worked???
