Yeah, you definately have to get it HIGH in the air for enough room to slip the headers in.

pacesetter long tubes into pacesetter ory into borla(the quiet one)... couple of things
    1. sound great
    2. great clearance
    3. had to buy an after market o2 sensor on drivers side because the stock ones are too long and they hit the transmission(a4) cable when in park..not good..actually a poor design because there is plenty of space for it but pacesetter just put the port in a horrible spot... or they could have just angled it one way or the other.
    4. the drivers side of the ory is flat on top for a good tuck and clearance...however it hit the floor board..so had to heat it a little and flatten it a little more..which didnt take it completely away..any suggestions would be appreciated
    5. last but not least they come with the worst clamps ever..they are dogshit! had to go buy 3" band clamps

I guess the lesson goes.... YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

any one else have these problems with the pacesetters?

I just brought my hawk home from the performance shop, had pacesetters & ory pipe installed, and some other mods. Mine sits up nice and almost out of sight,y-pipe doesn't make contact any where, and the clamps are all hidden so they wont drag or scrape. I'm very happy with the work The shop said they were very easy to install & were surprised at how well they fit & tucked up under the car. Mine is a 6spd.

Yeah, driver's side was cake, but my passenger side sucked. I had to cherry pick the motor to get it to fit. But I would do it again if I had too.

the clamps are shit becusae of the style they are..i wasnt talking scrape or drag...

wow. so your pipe doesnt hit the floor board at all...huh! mine does and i can feel it in my feet plus hear it!...i agree they tuck up great...but its too close and hits the floor board when the motor torques up.

    headers

Guess I'm just lucky. I put my car up on a rack to see how they looked, I have average size hands and could fit my hand between all of the contact points where the headers could hit. had a new clutch installed and haven't hit it hard yet. After the break in period I guess I'll find out if it hits or not.

I tend not to get high before I work on my car...LOL

Don't use the supplied gaskets, get some OEM metal gaskets.
    Don't over-torque the header bolts.
Replace the spark plugs while you're in there.
And you know what else compliments the headers nicely..bloody knuckles.
