No, my Dad listens to that kind of stuff while he drives his vette, it's just music, a mans masculinity (i guess thats the right word) has nothing to do with the kind of music they listen to, imo.
Me personally, I listen to Metal/Rap, mainly rap, I think it's safe to say that most people would consider those as masculine genres, but many women listen to it also. Music is music. It's made for both genders to enjoy. Just how I see it at least.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
By "Adult Contemporary" do you also mean "Smooth Jazz"? If so I listen to that type of music about 1/3 of the time.

I like a few of Abba's ballads. There are almost no dance songs I like a lot, because the genre is generally crap, but somehow dance is 'cooler' than adult contemporary. Smooth jazz isn't my idea of adult contemporary. It, too, gets kind of a pass, I think, maybe because it's often quite sexual. Funny, too, that any old guy driving a sports car would be judged less harshly about unmanly music, at least by me.

Upbeat really doesn't count, unless it's something by Michael Bolton or a woman's anthem, for example. Trouble is, few people crank softer music, so maybe that's a reason why I don't know of men listening to it. Edit: and now that I remember "Halo" is a ballad rather than her typical upbeat stuff (which true AC stations might not play), that takes guts.

hell im 22 and i gotten strange looks for listening to earth wind and fire, and war. good music is good music, just because my generation and younger dont know the artist/band doesnt automatically make it bad music. it just makes it different. i got strange looks from middle aged folks when listening to war, but they are probably looking for the middle aged person playing the music lol. i dont keep it all the way up but if someone is stopped next to me with windows down they can recognize the song. assuming they know the song at least.
