I know everyone on here has downloaded music illegally, you putting a video on youtube for your enjoyment isnt causing destruction of property or anything like the examples above. So when are we gonna start charging people to listen to FM radio?

the problem for the artists/labels is that they have to draw the line somewhere. but i'm with you in terms of private or non commercial use. when a gearhead puts a video about his ride on youtube it should be free of royalties.

So very true ... intellectual property is not very tangible. But the head porting is a sound example of intellectual property.

Music is created for a single purpose ... entertainment. Those that can't or don't create it, have to purchase it. If I create a music video using music I didn't create, then it's a violation, plain and simple, whether you are creating teh music video for sale or entertainment.
