advice on handling a friend issue

Was everything clear between you two? I mean did he know you wanted credit for the sale of the house...he might have just thought you were helping him with the loan as a friend.

No, actually, He paid about 5 grand more for the house because we weren't there to negotiate on his behalf. He would have saved money. Not to mention, in real estate the buyer's agent makes 3 percent regardless. He simply let us do the work, then went to the seller's agent and said write the contract.. She must have thought it was Christmas. He's seen me build and rent houses. I make my main living as an MD. Honestly, the money doesn't make or break me. I'm just piseed that he would do me like that.

Clear all the way down to when I get my check, we're going to Sam's and you choose the biggest tv in the building. The other agent, didn't give him a damn thing and did no work.

It really doesn't make any sense. I mean, you've known the guy forever... Even if you just do the Real Estate on the side, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that you do it for income and not just for kicks...

Did you discuss a final amount with him on the closing? Cuz, 5k is something you would rather save then spend.

Either he is running on empty upstairs... or he is just thought less

well one thing is for sure. Your friendship will never be the same. Every time you see him or go to his house this is what you're going to think about. That being said there are 2 ways to handle it. Get it all off your chest or just drop it and not worry about it.

There's actually a 3rd way to handle it. Go beat the hell out of nhrafirebird to get your aggressions out. I can PM you his address if you want to take this 3rd way which is the preferred way I think.

He doesn't sound like much of a friend to me. My "real" friends would never do that kind of crap. I only have a few of people I consider true friends, one of them I've known my whole life almost and while we haven't seen each other for about 14 years (we are both military) we still talk frequently and share our lives. The others have either saved my life or I have theirs (literally) and we are like brothers. The old saying keep your enemies close and your friends closer didn't come to be because your (so called) friends are good people.

You 'pulled strings' so your 'friend' could get qualified for the loan.

To the OP, I was in Car Sales for years.. New, Used. F&I. Service Manager you name it.. I learned one thing. After HELPING my family, Friends, GF's and so on.. DO NOT mix friends & Business... Sometimes you can't help it.. If that is the case.. Make sure you made cash on em. Make sure they KNOW you are and keep it professional.. IE Nothing you wouldn't do for a retail customer...I tell all my relatives that I will treat them like my best customer.. I do the same for any good customer.. The difference is that they will get honest work/parts/service with no bullshit at a reasonable rate and they won't get sold something they don't need. Anyone that want's you do something that you wouldn't normally do is simply looking to take advantage of you.. who the hell needs that?

If he is just some guy you call a friend and were looking to make an $8K comission on, Well, sucks for you.

I find it hard to believe you could have saved him $5K and he went directly to the sellers agent? Doesn't seem right. If that's what happened, you did not communicate with him what your plans were.

The whole 5 grand thing comes about because that would have been the negotiated price. He paid sticker. Nobody does that in this economy. Anyway it doesn't matter anyway because I've decided to kill him. I have it all planned out and I'll let you guys know if I get caught.
