    Some of them are backwards-compatible so you can still play a number of your PS2 games on it. Also plays DVD, CD, and burnt CDR/DVDR. free membership for life to the playstation network (x-box live is like $50/yr. I think)

    PS3 are no longer backwards compatible. the last system that has that feature was the MGS4 Bundle pack, which is the PS3 system that I have...

    you can go on Sony's website and see for one's-self which systems and the years they were produced that have back-compat function...

    I was thinking of getting a regular Blue-Ray Player. But someone said just get the PS3 and have both.
