Its a dead heat ONLY IF the STI launches like hell with a 6,000RPM clutch drop.

If the Sti launches normally or bogs off the line, its no contest. LS1 will walk it like its going backwards.

I got to try the next one from a dig, then. Only rolling races so far.

Ive seen a few dyno's on STI's and they are usually about 240WHP there drivetrain loss is what kills them. I raced one with my 93Z and couldnt tell if it was modded or not but was able to slightly pull up to about 120mph and this was a 06 STI. With my 01 Z it wont really be a close race at all unless if he gets a good launch but if its anything in 2nd gear or above its done. They really fall flat once it gets up in speed unless its really modded.

Don't do it lol. I raced my friends STi (same car in Original post) with his launch control map. Catch up was.....Fun....

If you got an M6 and you can drive an M6, Don't worry much but any mistake will probably cost you. These things aren't a joke but they arent the biggest threat.

My LT1 vs the WRX was pretty close (WRX out of the hole, me higher up), I would imagine the STi/LS1 race would be very similar.

What about if you had a good launch with an fbody, with drag radials?? How would that hang with an sti outta the hole?

If its a m6 yes, if your auto with a stock stall drag radials wont help that much becasue you still cant leave at higher rpms

An M6 with drag radials will easily keep up with or beat an STI off the line.

Same with a stalled auto and DR's.

If it doesnt have launch control. My buddies launches pretty hard but he's COBB stage II. Idk about a stock STi, but there's not too many stock ones left

A good v8 setup to hook will out launch a AWD car with street tires anyday. Now a AWD car setup to launch will be hard as i have seen talons/eclipses pull 1.1-1.3 60fts all day. A STI cannot launch on boost without a piggyback and therfore is not making alot of power off the line like a v8 would be.

Nice race OP one of my closest races was a sti im sure he had more stuff done, the one i raced had a bloush 20g turbo full exhuast dyno tuned 390trq and 345awhp. from 35 to 110 i had a lil more than half a car on him. He was really mad cuz i was stock i guess just a driver mod cuz i should have lost.

the clean wrx is pretty nice.i'm not a sube fan or anything on that side but there do look like a ball to play with.also i like would like to see a wrx without all the stupid wing and stuff but with same amount of power would be cool.wrx just looks so much clean.kkinda like the 1st generation f-body's and 4th generations.
