From a Dig, I'm sure he would pull maybe 2 cars on you, if he sticks it, and then it will stay like that most of the way. I ran up against a buddy of mines C5 Z06 and that was about what it was. Though he is producing more hp than me. I thought it was weird that I stayed that close to him.

Silver- 2003 GTI 1.8T :(
that kind of stuff is anybodys race... theoretically the vette should be faster, maybe not much at all.. but somewhat... but with even a slightly better driver the t/a can win... take me for ex... im bad at launching so i can get beat by a car i should never lose to stat wise, but yeah you get the point... driver error can make a wayyyy bigger diff than most people think

LS1s in Vettes are throttle-by-wire, LS1s in f-bods use cables.
Hot Rod took a new '98 WS6 (320HP) and a new '98 Vette (350HP), both M6s bone stock and tested them back to back on a dyno. The WS6 actually dyno'd higher. Whatever the vette might gain w/ that "better flowing exhaust" is given up w/ the IRS.

Keep in mind too that the LS1 in the F-bodies was underrated.

the vettes do have that true dual system though, compared to the f-bodys ypiped single. you'de think it would make more horsepower since it'll flow better. assuming they do make the same amount of power through the crank.

Exactly, the title of the thread is "engine difference between WS6 and vette", to which the answer is NOTHING other than the TB (wire/cable), I have my doubts about the supposed cam diffs '98-'00 myself. But he certainly didn't ask about the exhaust either. I mentioned the dyno tests as proof that even with that non-engine difference it isn't enough to show up and help at the rear wheels.

The cams did change, 99 had the most agressive cam, 98 had the worst flowing heads. 01 and 02 have the ls6 intake manifold but the smallest cam which is why they have only about 5 more hp than the 98-00.

The differences in stock ls1 cams is very minor, aroudn 5hp or so, not even a noticable difference.

It would be like 10hp at the crank at the most, not worth the work it wouldnt even shave .1 off the 1/4mile time, maybe .1 if your lucky.
