Have had glasses since 8th grade. Vision got progressively worse throughout the years. Finally, about 8 years ago it stabilized and hasn't changed since. Same vision in each eye.
I wear contacts 24/7....I did finally get new glasses though about a month ago and I actually like them enough to wear them in public if needed.
I rarely wear glasses though.

Almost did a Dawn last night Jeff.
In a wooded part of my neighborhood when from the right a deer burst out I locked the brakes up on the Durango. Fairly large deer for this area. I felt the thump and watched him keep on flying off to the left. So I stopped and it managed to get up and bolt off into the woods again. I look at the grill and no damage thank God. So I start looking for any blood trails. Nothing. I even looked where he landed on the grass but still nothing. We looked for a few mins because he got up all wrong but still manage to run. If he's dead I wanted the prize, however if he's alive he must have felt it. I checked again this morning because if it died the temps were in the 20's so the meat would have been still good just a PITA to process.
I was surprised as hell because I thought the deer in my area moved on because of all the home construction.

Yikes, that was a close one then. Glad you and the truck made it out alright (minus being a little hungry for some deer meat lol)
I had to lock up the brakes in the SS (thank God for Brembos) last weekend for a deer bolting into the road, I'd have hit her if she didn't pop her rear legs up and over the driver's side of the car....extremely lucky.

I have plenty of deer meat so not going hungry anytime soon But I hate seeing good meat go to waste, not to mention if it died it will drawl in coyotes into out area. Those bastards have been moving east fairly fast. 10yrs ago I don't think there was one, now they are significant sightings, more so then dead raccoons and opossums on the side of the road.

It so sunny out right now... makes you forget it feels like -5 with the wind during the day. Next week they are saying it might get into the upper 30s. People will be walking around without coats on.

Yep, time to take the Christmas lights down and have the annual Christmas tree burning party. I have mine, my sister's and my moms 12 foot tree so far. I'm expecting 2 more.

I almost scored a deer heading down to check the office Wednesday night. I rounded the corner at the bottom of our hill and the son bitch was on the right hand curb. It lowered its head, and I thought, "Shit, it's going to cross." I swerved to the left, put the Caddie into a bit of a slide, and then heard the thump. Corrected, pulled over and with my phone light jumped out to inspect the damage. I think only the horns impacted the right rear door and quarter. I found two small abrasions and no dents that I could see.

my mom had a similar experience Friday night. had one come off an embankment, and between her evasive maneuver, horn blowing and the snow on the road she managed to avoid any signs of damage. the deer either slid into the tire or under the explorer.
