So if i get some used headers and a new ory, do ya know what additional things i need to by like any clamps, wires i think o2 sensors and all that. Also does the y pipe need to be welded to the headers or catback? Thanks any place where i can buy would be appreciated as well.

I wouldn't weld anything, unless you absolutely have to. Band clamps do a good job of holding everything together with minimal leakage - just have to tighten the snot out of them. If your O2 senders are due for replacement - grab a set of Bosch P/N 13111 as they have a nice long harness and no extensions are required.

So how "bolt-on" was that, and was it very expensive? My WS6 is a CA admissions model in Maryland.

All bolt on and very easy to install in a few hours. Would have went quicker with an extra set of hands. The Kook's LT's and catted-Y are pricey - may have been around $1,400 total.

Whats the pros and coms of ory and catted y? also since kooks y pipe is 3 inch I measured the piping on my flowmaster 40 series that connects to my current stock y pipe and it's 2.5 inches. If I was to get the kooks 3 inch y pipe would I have to change the piping on the flowmaster or how would that work? Also wouldn't that restrict it coming from 3 inch to 2.5 inch? Thanks

If you get the Kooks Y pipe, it should connect to your I-pipe. Most companies assume you will be connecting the ORY or catted Y to the stock I-pipe. You could check the specs from whoever sells the ORY. Your exhaust won't be restricted, and I believe the stock I-pipe is 2.75''.

If you live in Cali, there is no difference between the catted vs. non-catted Y. There will be a noise level difference, tho, with the catted Y taking away some noise but also rewarding with a deeper rumble, and also taking away most of the rasp. You cannot leagally change the location of the convertors in California.

Ok I was thinking performance would benefit with the ory, and hopefully its not to raspy think my flowmaster will help with the rasp lol, Thanks tho... Some 2.5 inlet and 4 inch outlet quad tips will be the finishing touches

Roughly how much would ya think a muffler shop should charge to install headers and a y pipe just to get a better understanding?

Agree, most shops will charge a lot due to how time consuming it can take. Its not that difficult, just takes time.

You can do them in your garage or driveway. Just need to lift the car on jack stands to about 18"-20". Having a buddy to help and beer to reward him/her for their help is great too.

We have a sticky that is very helpful in the General Help section.

I should say that's with me providing the parts and only paying for labor which runs about 70 dollars an hour
