Anyone else use a duster?

I've used them for years without a problem. I also have a little one they make for interiors and such. I also use it in the engine compartment.

I generally prefer to use a Jax Wax spray detailer and wipe the car down,,,because the Cali Dusters tend to leave some of that parrafin wax behind on the car. Which attracts more dust.

It's not a bad thing,,,and I'll use the duster if I'm in a hurry, but I find I have to dust it more often once I do use it,,,,that is until I wipe the car down with a detailer. Then it stays dust free for a longer period.

Other than that I have no complaints with the Cali Dusters. Never had it scratch anything. I've seen them for quite some time at the local Walmarts around here which is probably the cheapest place to buy one.

Edit: Just a heads up. I don't even think the ones at Walmart even come with instructions anymore, but the original dusters I remember used to tell you to remove the duster and set it on top of news paper for 24 hours so as to soak up some of the wax.....otherwise when they are new they tend to leave streaks for a while.

Had that happen to me. was leaving streaks from the wax. noticed it mostly on the windows. I washed it and its been fine for me since.

Read the instructions and several posts above. You are not suppose to wash it. Washing will remove the paraffin wax.

Have Cali Car and Mini-Dusters. Never washed mine. Works great...even after 9 years.

I looked online and saw a bunch of different "styles" of these California dusters. Does anyone have a preference of one over the other? Maybe post a pic of yours so I can see which one??

Get the one with the wooden handle.

There are alot of copy cats on the market,,,and they don't work as well. You'll want a REAL California Duster.

I still have one of the originals,,,the originals used to be made with a real wooden handle. I'm not sure they go through the extra cost of manufacturing those anymore or not. Most I have seen now have a plastic handle.
I've bought the plastic handle version from Walmart before, and they seem to work okay.

The original cali dusters with the wooden handles you could tell right away they were of better quality, much larger with more mop material, and came with a nice carry case.

out there that are using the same brand name I'm more than sure there would be Lawyers all over this......

I wasn't sure if they made the wooden handle ones anymore. I hadn't seen one in 10 years or so,,,but I seem to remember seeing a vendor selling them at the Goodguys meet just a few months back. I just didn't pay close attention at the time.
