DO YOU HAVE THE GM BUILD SHEET FOR THE MONTE? IT WILL SAY IT ON IT. I KNOW YOU CAN GET A BUILD SHEET FROM GM BUT IT COSTS $50

Just checked out the entire thread, good stuff!
I did notice the photo had your Monte in it. Bad angle for capturing shaded objects with my eye blinding silver

Wouldn't be the first time something like that has happened.

Hey Jeff, is it possible that it's a 1985 1/2? I only say that because one of my 69 Chevelles was a 69 1/2 and it had the same interior (seat upholstery) as my friends 1970 Chevelle. Perhaps the color codes were off

Anything is possible.
I still haven't taken the time to pull out my literature to see what it says.

This car is now quite special to me, it is the very first vehicle I have taken down a 1/4 mile track on my own with. Big thanks Jeff! Addiction started! Won't ever forget it.

I was able to also enjoy a first in this car also this weekend, I had my Daughter and my Wife with me for their first ever passes down the 1/4 mile. They both loved it and it was fun for me however I was a full second off the record and have no idea how I could have run faster! Hell I even red lighted trying to beat the tree...I'm blaming it on the heat

I pulled the floor mat and tossed it in the trunk as soon as we arrived at the track!

I actually checked to see if they would fit on the Regal (nope)... never thought about the Monte.

The Regal has not made a pass yet. Meant to try it out last Fall and just never got it to happen.
I'll see if we can drag it down next week to the cruise in. Other than that, you are always welcome to stop up and we can go get it out for a spin.

So it is time to replace the tires on the Monte -- stock size is 215/65 15 if I recall. Unfortunately, it appears that Goodyear discontinued the Eagle GTII tires in 15" diameter a few years ago. Kelsey tire is re-popping the original Eagle GT tires... at $360 per tire. Did you hear me choke a bit when I typed that?
My go to muscle car tire is always the BF Goodrich Radial T/A, however, I am not certain if this is the correct look for the car. I have also considered mounting the tires with the blackwall out. White letter tires are really what it needs though. Never been a fan of Cooper Cobras or Kelley Chargers... Ugh. What to do?

We ran into the same problem with my sons 89 5.0 mustang a couple years back. It takes a 225/60-15 in a Goodyear VR 60 and it had been discontinued years ago. Looking at Tire Rack we only had 4-5 choices, BFG being one of them. These little fox mustangs had black wall tires originally so I knew what ever I bought I'd turn the white letters in. I really wanted some Michelins but they didn't make a tire for it. I ended up with some cheap Uniroyal Tiger Paws and quite honestly they haven't been a bad tire so far after about 20,000 miles.
I look around now and I don't even see the Uniroyals offered in that size anymore, lol. Choices are dwindling.Last edited by Firebirdjones; 01-31-2017 at 05:14 PM.
